In the world of modern self-publishing, creating a physical magazine is more accessible and more powerful than ever. That's the goal of The Expeditionary, to bring together a group of creators and adventurers to create and share a physical magazine. This magazine will include stories and photojournalism covering expeditions and adventures from around the world.
This collaborative project is an excellent example of how modern technology can bring people together to create something professional that can compete with multi-million dollar publications. We can't wait to see what this team of creators and adventurers comes up with in the first issue. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting project as we aim to have the first volume out by June 2023. One of the most exciting aspects of this project is the level of creative autonomy contributors will have. They can submit their work unformatted and have the team format and sequence it for them, or they can submit a Blurb file of their formatted work to be published. This means that contributors have the power to create something that they want to publish, not what an editorial board wants to publish, maximizing creative autonomy for contributors. Overall, this project is an excellent example of how technology is making it easier to create high-quality publications at an affordable price. By utilizing modern self-publishing tools, this team of creators and adventurers can create something truly professional and inspiring. We look forward to updating you on our progress and being able to share our work! -Griffin Weston, Co-founder of The Expeditionary |
